“Dispersed” on display in PLU’s Art Gallery
April 20, 2009
Visiting Assistant Professor Holly A. Senn and Tacoma Community College’s Kyle Dillehay will have their newest art exhibit on display in Pacific Lutheran University’s Art Gallery through April 22. The gallery is located in the Ingram Hall foyer.
The exhibit has been on display since April1, when a reception was held to celebrate the new installation.
The title of this new exhibit is “Dispersed,” which reflects the primary subject of seeds.
In an excerpt from the artists’ statement, Senn said, “In this installation we explore a mutual interest in botanical life cycles…each specimen is isolated and raised for scrutiny. The pods sway in space as if moved by the wind, capturing their dispersive nature. T the same time these organic vessels are lifeless, dry, and pinned down, part of an otherworldly biological exhibition.”
For more information on the exhibit, contact the PLU Art Department at 253-535-7573 or artd@plu.edu.
