Volunteers needed for Commencement Weekend 2009

April 20, 2009

The Department of Constituent Relations is looking for volunteers to assist with Commencement Weekend 2009. These volunteers will be helping to provide a “Lute Salute” for the graduating students throughout the weekend.

The first volunteer opportunity will be at the Gonyea House Commencement Reception from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Volunteers will be needed to welcome and help direct graduates and their families at the Hospitality Tent located at the Morken Center for Learning and Technology. Shorter shifts of 1-2 hours are also available.

Volunteers will also be needed at the Tacoma Dome Commencement Ceremony to pass out programs, answer questions, direct people and provide general PLU hospitality. Approximately 100 people will be needed for this event, and volunteers who are available for the entire ceremony will be greatly appreciated. However, if volunteering for the entire event is not a possibility, then volunteers are asked to indicate when they will be available.

More information can be found at the Office of Constituent Relations, located in the Nesvig Alumni Center. Applications are due by May 1 to Tina Riendl. All volunteers will be given further information via email during the week of May 18.
