Nominations are now being accepted
April 06, 2009
The Center for Public Service and the Volunteer Center are pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the David T. Alger Service Award. This award was created to honor Reverend Alger for his deep connections with Associated Ministries, PLU, and the Pierce County community. There are numerous students, faculty, and staff members at PLU who serve our local and global communities, empower others, and create lasting bonds and connections among people - we want to make sure they are recognized for their outstanding efforts!
Two individuals will be honored with this exceptional award, one
student and either one faculty or one staff member. Each awardee will
receive $500 that he or she will then have the opportunity to gift to
a community organization, agency, or cause in the spirit of continued
giving and philanthropy.

Nomination forms and the accompanying recommendation letter are due to the Center for Public Service in Ramstad Hall by Monday, April 13, 2009.
The recipients will be announced at the annual Celebration of Service on April 23, 2009.
This year Reverend David Alger will be honored upon his retirement at this year's event, so it is a great time to recognize the wonderful things our PLU colleagues are doing!
Please contact the Center for Public Service at pubsrvc@plu.edu or 253-535-7652 if you have any questions.
