Did you know that 95 percent of the students attending PLU rely on financial aid in the form of grants and loans?

In these difficult economic times, PLU students and their families are facing unprecedented challenges in realizing their dreams of a college education. Projections by our financial aid office indicate that the university will need to provide an additional $3 million in scholarship support for students in 2009-10.

It’s a task PLU has embraced, in ensuring that current students will be able to continue their education and that qualified new students will be able to enroll at PLU.

To help meet this goal, President Loren J. Anderson and the Board of Regents have launched a short-term fund-raising program known as Project Access. Through Project Access, PLU’s Q Club hopes to raise $1 million of the $3 million needed for financial aid. The balance will be funded by the careful stewardship of tuition revenue and by finding new operational efficiencies, without compromising academic quality.

To meet the goal, 300 new Q Club scholarships at the $3,500 level are needed.

Current students are reaching their dreams right now at PLU and on their way to making tremendous differences in the world. Many of them received Q Club scholarships, which have made a tremendous difference for them in reaching their educational aspirations.

Go to the Project Access Web site and learn more about this endeavor, including the difference these scholarships have made from students themselves.
