PLU’s Young Entrepreneurs Group goes green
September 29, 2008
Every student can afford to add a bit of flare to his or her wardrobe. Keeping this in mind, the Young Entrepreneurs Group will be asking students to hand over their jeans and T-shirts to be “fashionably revitalized.”
The AbstractFashion fundraiser, presented by YE, will be held in Red Square Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jeans and T-shirts will undergo this revitalization by means of custom ripping, bleaching, and tie-dying. The event will showcase YE’s skills in business development by combining fashion and sustainability.
At the event, students will chose from three destroyed look options for their jeans, leaving a card with deposit and instructions. The students can tie-dye at the table or leave their T-shirt with specific color instructions for the AbstractFashion artists and designers to complete in one week.
AbstractFashion is a new business consisting of YE designers who have practiced and developed a fashion forward attempt to recycle and restyle students’ wardrobes. PLU’s AbstractFashion is affordable and touches on the individuality and sustainability issues important to PLU students.
