Seminar to address safety and security at PLU
August 28, 2008
A Safety and Security Seminar on Sept. 11 will inform and provide solutions to the PLU community on current and emerging higher education issues and strategies for addressing crucial challenges
The seminar is free and open to all students, faculty and staff. It will be held in room 133 of the University Center from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch. Beverages will be provided.
The seminar is a joint effort by Campus Safety, Risk Management, Emergency Programs and Environmental Health and Safety. It includes presentations by:
• Tony Berger, director of Campus Safety, about workplace, classroom and personal safety
• Sue Liden, manager of finance and operations, discussing travel information related to insurance and emergency assistance
• Jennifer Wamboldt, emergency programs manager, about evacuation and lock down procedures, as well as preparedness and response
• Joe Bell, environmental health and safety manager, on injury and hazard reporting and how to prevent accidents
