MFA reading series features national authors

Twenty-one nationally recognized poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction writers will share their work during a summer reading series.
The series is part of the summer residency program of PLU’s master of fine arts in creative writing, the Rainier Writing Workshop. The featured writers are all faculty in the program.
The readings run from Aug. 3 to 11, and are held at 7:30 p.m. in the Scandinavian Cultural Center. They are free and open to the public.

- Sunday, August 3: Kevin Clark, poetry; Gary Ferguson, nonfiction; and Jess Walter, fiction.
- Monday, August 4: Lia Purpura, poetry (new collection); Rebecca McClanahan, nonfiction; and Brent Spencer, fiction.
- Tuesday, August 5: David Biespiel, poetry; Robin Hemley, nonfiction; and Ann Pancake, fiction (new collection).
- Wednesday, August 6: Linda Bierds, poetry; Brenda Miller, nonfiction; and Kent Meyers, fiction.
- Friday, August 8: Greg Glazner, poetry; Dinah Lenney, nonfiction; and Jim Heynen, fiction.
- Saturday, August 9: Stephen Corey, poetry; Peggy Shumaker, nonfiction and poetry; and Mary Clearman Blew, nonfiction and fiction (new collection).
- Monday, August 11: Fleda Brown, poetry and nonfiction; Sherry Simpson, nonfiction (new collection); and David Huddle, fiction and poetry (new collection).
