Welcome to PLU

PLU welcomed the following new employees:

Michelle Frost joins PLU as the merchandising manager and clothing/imprinted gifts buyer for Garfield Book Company at PLU. Frost has a bachelor’s degree in business marketing, and also participated in a master’s workshop in poetry and chemical dependency counseling. Previously, she worked as a creative writing teacher and bookseller, poet-in-the-schools and rehabilitation counselor. Frost and her partner, Bobby, have two cats (Sonny and Stella), a dog (Buddy), two frogs (Chuck and Randy) and a guinea pig (Jimmy.) In her spare time, she enjoys writing, photography, music, yoga and gardening.

Afton Maib was hired as the financial aid administrator for the Office of Financial Aid. A 2008 PLU graduate with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and religion, Maib worked as a student for the office. When not at work, Maib enjoys gardening, running, camping and fishing.

Barbara Olson joined the Office of the President as the executive associate to the president. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., and previously worked as an elementary school teacher and sales agent for Northwest Airlines. Outside of work, Olson likes to travel, read and spend time with family and friends. Olson and her husband, Steve, have two children, Aaron and Kari.
