Public notice of PLU grant proposals

In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, this public notice announces to the Tacoma/Pierce County community an opportunity to comment on a grant proposal requesting federal (Federal Emergency Management Agency) and state matching funding through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (with required planning).
Pacific Lutheran University is applying for two grants that propose improvements in the seismic/structural performance of Hong and Hinderlie residence halls. Retrofitting the halls will improve safety and reduce building damage during an earthquake.
The public is invited to help assess the proposed actions and alternatives. For a description of the proposals, visit www.plu.edu/emergency, call 253-5398-6042 or visit one of two public meetings.
Public meetings are scheduled for:
- Wednesday, June 18 at 6 p.m. in the Regency Room of the University Center on the PLU campus.
- Friday, June 20 at noon in room 133 of the University Center on the PLU campus.
