UC generator tested May 29
May 28, 2008
PLU will test the new generator in the University Center on Thursday, May 29 at 4:45 p.m.
The test will enable the university to evaluate if all the systems powered by the generator work, and understand the emergency working environment for Dining and Culinary Services, the Business Office and the Health Center.
The building’s boilers will be powered down beginning at 2 p.m., affecting the heating and hot water in the UC, Ramstad Commons, Xavier and Mortvedt for several hours late Thursday afternoon and early evening.
Barring a cold snap, residual heat will remain in the system. That will keep the temperatures in the buildings comfortable and heat enough hot water for hand washing.
Staff and faculty are advised to turn off their computers before 4:45 p.m.
For more information, contact Jennifer Wamboldt at ext. 6042 or wamboljm@plu.edu.
