Nominations sought for inspirational women
February 21, 2008
The 12th annual Inspirational Women’s Banquet will celebrate women from the PLU community and honor their accomplishments on Tuesday, March 11 at 5:30 p.m. in Chris Knutzen Hall.
The banquet is held in recognition of Women’s History Month, and this year’s program is themed “Women & Jazz.” The banquet features a performance by the Jazz Ensemble.
Nominations are currently being sought of female faculty, staff, alumni and students who have been an inspiration to others and have worked towards community, justice and equity. Past nominees have ranged from prominent professors to friendly coffee shop workers. Nominations are due to the Women’s Center by March 6.
At the banquet, three to five of the nominees will be recognized for their accomplishments and be awarded a certificate.
Reservations and tickets are required to attend the banquet. Tickets are available at the Women’s Center. Tickets cost $5 for faculty and staff, but are free for students. The money will be donated to support local peace efforts.
For more information, contact the center at ext. 8759 or womencen@plu.edu.
