PLU delegation visits with Vietnamese newspaper editor
February 01, 2008
On Jan. 7, a 14-member delegation of PLU MBA students and faculty members visited the Saigon Times Weekly in Vietnam.
The group met with Tran Ngoc Chau, editor of the newspaper. He spoke about the socio-economic developments in Vietnam one year after the country entered the World Trade Organization.
“We met with the editor – a fascinating man who had a broad perspective of the changes in Vietnam over the past 20-plus years,” said Susan Harmon, associate marketing professor. “He spoke not only to business and journalism issues, but also to broader changes in Vietnam’s culture.”
The visit was chronicled in an article on the front page of the Saigon Times Weekly, including a photograph Chau with John Lee, dean of the School of Education and Movement Studies, and the students.
