Accreditation feedback sessions in January and February

January 18, 2008

PLU is currently preparing for a comprehensive, full-scale accreditation reevaluation in April.

The university is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. PLU’s accreditation self-study report is in draft form and can be reviewed on the accreditation Web site.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to provide feedback on the drafts to the steering committee and section authors. Sessions will be held in Chris Knutzen Hall East on Tuesday, Jan. 22 from 3 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The sessions will cover all nine of the NWCCU standards, including mission, educational program, students, faculty, library and information resources, governance and administration, finance, physical resources and institutional integrity.

Those unable to attend a feedback session are encouraged to read the drafts online and submit comments through email.

Representatives of NWCCU will visit PLU from April 16 to 18 to complete the reevaluation. Such a review is conducted once every 10 years, most recently at PLU in 1998.
