Annual concerts spread holiday cheer

Celebrate the holiday season this year at “Rejoice: A Christmas celebration concert from the campus of PLU” on Nov. 30 in Portland, Dec. 1 in Seattle and Dec. 2 on campus.

The annual Christmas concerts include anthems, processionals, carols, narration and audience participation. This year marks the premiere of the new work “Sinfonia and Processional: Rejoice!,” which was named for the concerts’ theme and written by PLU composer Greg Youtz.

The concerts feature the Choir of the West, conducted by Richard Nance, University Chorale, conducted by Steven Zopfi, and members of the University Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jeffrey Bell-Hanson.

The performances will take place at the following dates and times:
  • Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m.
    St. Mary’s Cathedral, 1739 N.W. Couch St., Portland, Ore.
  • Saturday, Dec. 1, 8 p.m.
    First Presbyterian Church, 1013 8th Ave., Seattle
  • Sunday, Dec. 2, 4 p.m.
    Olson Auditorium, PLU campus

Tickets are $20 for general admission, $15 for senior citizens, students, the PLU community and alumni, and free for children 12 and under. Group rates are available.
