Event features tastes, sounds from around the globe
November 02, 2007
The diverse cultures found on campus will be showcased at Multicultural Night: A Display of Cultural Arts on Friday, Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. in South Hall’s main lounge.
The event features food, music, dancing and performances by student clubs who are part of the diversity coalition. These clubs include Lute Explosion, the Hawaii Club, Jewish Club, API Club, International Club and Hope ‘Scopes.
“All the diversity clubs are coming together to collaborate,” said student Kathy Cao, diversity advocate. “It’s informal, a gathering place to learn about each other’s cultures.”
At the event, students can learn the moves to cultural dances, taste ethnic food and enter a raffle for various PLU giftcards. Students are encouraged to wear their traditional costumes, Cao said.
