User-generated content focus of business seminar

November 02, 2007

PLU’s School of Business and ePLU E-Commerce and Technology Management Center are hosting e-Business Day 2007 on Tuesday, Nov. 13 in room 103 of the Morken Center.

The seminar runs from 8 a.m. to noon. It will focus on the rise of user-generated content, such as blogs, discussion groups and wikis, and the opportunities these present to businesses in creating and delivering value for customers in new and innovative ways.

A keynote presentation by technology guru Chris Pirillo, founder of Lockergnome.com, will be followed by two panel discussions and networking opportunities.

Panelists for the first discussion, “The Rise of User Generated Content,” include David Geller, founder and CEO of Eyeiot; Kristie Dokes, student outreach coordinator for World Vision; and Michael Bolognino, community/word of mouth marketing manager. It will be moderated by Neil Crist, principle consultant for The Prosys Group and co-founder of Jobster.com.

The second panel discussion, “Next Generation Business Services,” includes Todd Ostrander, chief strategy officer at Perlego; Aaron Fossum, senior implementation consultant for Omniture; Sam Chung, professor at the University of Washington’s Institute of Technology; Jason Sommerset, mobile solutions architect for Infospace; and Crist. It will be moderated by Justin Foster, vice president of professional services at WhatCounts, Inc.
