Halloween trick-or-treating returns to campus

October 26, 2007

The Garfield Street Business Association and PLU will once again host a “safe street” trick-or-treat event on Halloween night.

Children of faculty and staff and from the surrounding Parkland community are welcome to attend. The candy quest runs from 4 to 6 p.m. along Garfield Street, between Pacific Avenue and Park Avenue, and continues on campus from 6 to 8 p.m., where all the residence halls will be open.

If students wish to participate and hand out candy, they can get a paper pumpkin at the front desk of their residence hall on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The pumpkin should be placed on the door to their room, identifying it as a room with candy.

The event is being advertised to children in the Franklin-Pierce school district, and local Head Start and church programs, and is sponsored by the Residence Hall Councils. All trick-or-treaters should be under 13 years old and accompanied by an adult.

For more information about the PLU event, contact the Residential Life Office at ext. 7200. Questions about the Garfield Street portion should be directed to Elizabeth Johnson at 253-537-2377.
