Tuition benefits for children of employees
September 21, 2007
Faculty and staff with high school seniors who are considering using either of the tuition exchange programs offered by PLU are encouraged to apply for the programs soon.
PLU participates in two different tuition exchange programs, each with its own eligibility requirements and application deadlines.
The larger program, Tuition Exchange, Inc., covers full tuition at more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States. The program is highly competitive, as each school offers a limited number of scholarships. Even so, several dependents of PLU employees have been chosen to receive scholarships each year. For a list of participating schools and additional information, visit the Tuition Exchange Web site.
In addition to the Tuition Exchange, Inc. program, PLU also participates in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Tuition Plan Program. It consists of 28 colleges and universities connected to the ELCA, and the program typically covers two-thirds to three-quarters of the tuition cost.
