The waffle wait is over

The waffle wait is over

The wait for the much-anticipated make-your-own waffle machine ended when the waffle station debuted in The Commons on Friday. Sophomore Manetta Sanders (pictured) was among the first to try out the new gadget.

The waffle station is one of many new menu and service additions Dining and Culinary Services will be rolling out in the next few weeks, said J.J. Stolz, marketing manager. As the department continues to settle into its newly updated digs, more features will be added. These include 42-inch LCD screens, which will display menus at each station and promote special programs.

Other future improvements to the campus eating experience include a fresh line of baked goods called “by Erica” from the Tahoma Bakery. The baker is already getting rave reviews for her imaginative sweets and savories, such as sweet potato cinnamon rolls, a key lime bars and white chocolate ginger cookies.

Stolz appreciates the many comment cards filled out by students and encourages students to continue submitting them. The comments will help the staff improve the dining experience and address student concerns. For example, in response to student comments, the dining hall now opens an hour earlier on Sunday mornings – at 9:30 a.m. instead of 10:30 a.m., and some of the beverage prices have changed.
