Fitness center announces fall hours

August 24, 2007

Avoid gaining the “freshman fifteen” this fall by taking advantage of the weight training and conditioning equipment in Names Fitness Center.

This fall, the center will be open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 9 p.m.

It may close periodically during the week for physical education classes. Closures will be posted on the center’s doors. During the first half of fall semester, the center will close for weight training classes Monday and Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The closure times will shift during the second half of the semester to Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 to 9:15 a.m.

Closing the center during weight training classes will allow instructors to stay focused on their students, explained Chris Wood, strength and conditioning coordinator and assistant track and field coach.

All students, faculty and staff can use the 5,500-square-foot fitness center located on lower campus. The building features an indoor jogging track and state-of-the-art weight training and conditioning equipment.

For more information, contact Wood at 253-538-5496.
