Final fruit festival features The Coats
July 27, 2007
Seattle vocal band The Coats will perform on August 15 at the Blueberry Fruit Festival.
The a cappella quartet began singing for tourists on the street corners of Pike Place Market in Seattle to earn a few extra bucks. The side job quickly evolved into a full-time career and the quartet has since won national vocal competitions, sang for the President of the United States and shared the stage with the likes of Trisha Yearwood, The Beach Boys and Ronnie Milsap.
The final fruit festival of the summer begins at 11:30 a.m. in Red Square and features a blueberry treat. Dessert is free with a PLU I.D., and it costs $2.50 without one. The entertainment is free.
