Welcome to PLU

PLU welcomed the following new employees:

Amber Dehne was hired as the assistant director of Student Involvement and Leadership. Dehne holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from St. Norbert College in Wisconsin and a master’s degree in college student personnel from Miami University in Ohio. Prior to coming to PLU, she worked as a graduate assistant at Miami University. In her spare time, Dehne likes to learn about new musical artists and groups, spend time outdoors and cheer for the Green Bay Packers football team.

Svea Erickson ’05 joined Dining Services as the catering manager. After graduating from PLU, Erickson attended the Western Culinary Institute, graduating in 2006. She previously worked for Century Catering and Starbucks in Portland, Ore. Erickson is a member of Alpha Kappa Delta. Her hobbies include cooking, hiking, camping and traveling.

Alexandra Lampert is the acquisitions specialist in Mordvedt Library. She holds bachelor degrees in anthropology and religion, with minors in philosophy and psychology. Currently, Lampert is pursuing her master’s degree in information and library science. Lampert previously worked for 10X Systems Corporation/GE Healthcare. When she’s not working, she volunteers, participates in digs, reads, hikes and bikes.

Julie Lao was hired as the senior office assistant in the Division of Humanities. Lao earned bachelor degrees in psychology and English technical writing from Eastern Washington University, and she’s worked as an admission counselor at the University of Puget Sound. She is a member of the National Organization for Women and of EWU’s Psi Chi honor society for psychology majors. Lao enjoys reading, spending time outdoors and creating artwork.

Katie Skovholt ’06 joined the School of Arts and Communication as the senior administrative assistant. As a PLU student, she served as the school’s office manager. Skovholt earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from PLU, and she also works as the choir and ensemble director and soloist at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in SeaTac. Her hobbies include musical theatre, choral conducting, historical fiction and beaded jewelry.
