Commute program giving away iPods in May

May 11, 2007

Faculty and staff who have used alternative ways to get to work this year are eligible to win a nano iPod from PLU’s Commute Trip Reduction program.

The program rewards employees who bike, walk, carpool and take the bus to campus. Employees who work four 10-hour shifts a week or work from home are also eligible for the benefit. Those who participate in the program earn “reward points” that can be applied to Lute Bucks.

Two iPods will be given away this month. One will go to a new commuter who joined the program this year and has the most rewards points. The other will be given away in a drawing that will include all commuters who have participated in the program for at least a year.

The week of May 14th is also National Bike Week, and the program encourages PLU employees to bike to work.

To be eligible for the iPod giveaway, employees must fill out a commute trip calendar specifying the days they used alternative forms transportation to get to work. The calendar needs to be returned to Admin 124 by the end of the month. This month’s calendar can be found at the program’s Web site: www.plu.edu/~commute.

For more information, email the program at commute@plu.edu.
