Celebrating leadership

The event acknowledged the contributions of students from across campus, and formally recognized inductees into the Pinnacle Society, the recipients of the 2007 Leaders of Distinction, and clubs and organizations that went above and beyond to enhance the PLU experience. Additionally, the event reviewed the highlights of the past year through a slideshow and comments by students Jacob Schonau-Taylor and Ingrid Stegemoeller.
The Pinnacle Society is an honorary affiliation that celebrates graduates who have exhibited sustained leadership and service that has enriched both PLU and the greater Tacoma community. Seniors recognized with the honor this year include: Julianna Brei-Crawley, Ellen Brotherston, Tiffanie Clark, Emma Coulson, Tova Emry, Troy Hashagen, Jennifer Henrichsen, Jessica Holden, Jay Jahnsen, Shelley Johnson, Elizabeth Lamb-Ferro, Lucas Lycksell, Rebecca Mares, Shannon Murphy, Megan Murray, Tyler Ochsner, Katie Oxenford, Amber Plambeck, Kaarin Praxel, Jennifer Prince, Anne Spilman and Stegemoeller.
The Leaders of Distinction Award recognizes continuing students for exceptional leadership service in the PLU community. The following students were honored: Troy Andrade, Brian Benson, Troy Benton, Dominique Calata, David Christal, Breanne Coats, Katherine Collins, Jason Estes, Abigail Fagan, Kate Fontana, Kristen Gelbach, Lisa Gilbert, Jens Gilbertson, William Goldsworth, Shannon Greene, Andy Guinn, Emily Hockert, Ben Johnson, Desiree Koanui, Ashley Linn, Kelsie Melton, Jon Morehead, Noriko Nagane, Katie Oliver, Christy Olsen, Jennifer Perusse, Carl Pierce, Tamara Power-Drutis, Krista Rajanen, Jamie Roberts, Schonau-Taylor, Colleen Silcox, Caitlin Stoskopf, Cindel Tobias, Sondra Tripp, Tova Tupper and Allen Unzelman.
The Certificate of Accomplishment honors a special group of senior students who have positively impacted the PLU community through their service and contributions to the co-curricular experience of other students. Those recognized this year were: Kirsten Blume, Christine Claridge, Ian Corbridge, Ali Giespers, Josh Herzfeldt-Kamprath, Melissa Huggins, Tim Kelly, Katy Nelson-Penland, Dan Nutt, Lindsey Paxton, Shereen Perreira, Andrew Schwartz, Carly Steen, Paige Sthen, Robby Westermann and Laura Zaichkin.
Finally, the Certificate of Recognition honors student leaders who have made significant contributions to the PLU community during the past year. Those recognized included members of various clubs and organizations.
