PLU history highlighted next week

March 09, 2007

The Student Alumni Association is hosting PLU History Week from March 18 to 23.

The weeklong celebration of the university’s history kicks off on Sunday, March 18 with a Legacy Picnic at 6 p.m. in the Scandinavian Cultural Center. Students whose parents or grandparents attended PLU are invited to attend and mix with other “legacy Lutes.” Registration is required and can be completed online.

The week continues on Tuesday, March 20 with the “Tables for 8 Career Dinner” at 6 p.m. in Chris Knutzen Hall. PLU alumni will offer tips and advice to students about preparing for life after graduation.

The dinner is open to all students and costs $3 to attend. To register, visit the South Hall front desk or the Student Alumni Association's Web site.

The week’s H.U.M.P. event on Wednesday will be retro-themed and includes a costume competition, prizes and a dance. The event takes place in Pflueger’s second floor lounge from 9 to 11 p.m.

During UC dinner times throughout the week, students are invited to test their knowledge of PLU trivia and win prizes. The week’s events are co-sponsored by South Hall community assistants and ASPLU.
