Find jobs, internships at annual fair
March 02, 2007
The annual spring Career, Internship and Graduate Program Fair will be held March 7 and 8 in the University Center.
At the fair, students can network with potential employers, as well as learn more about career and internship opportunities, and the requirements of local graduate programs. Employers attend the fair with the intent to hire employees and interns.
On Wednesday, March 7, the fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will include employers from business, private corporations, hospitals, healthcare and the military. A separate School District Fair for newly minted teachers will be held on March 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. in Chris Knutzen Hall.
The second day of the fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It features employers from non-profit organizations, state and federal agencies, and recruiters for graduate programs.
Students are encouraged to dress professionally, bring copies of their resume and be prepared to present themselves in a professional manner. To find a complete list of employers attending the fair, and for tips dressing professionally, visit Career Development’s Web site by clicking here.
Additionally, the office is helping students prepare for the fair with workshops focused on resumes and interviewing.
A professional recruiter will conduct mock interviews and offer interviewing tips on Monday, March 5 from 2 to 4:30 p.m. in Ramstad 112. Contact Career Development at ext. 7459 to make an appointment.
The office is also hosting a “Resume Drop In” on Tuesday, March 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Ramstad 112. During that time, students can bring their resume in and review it with a staff member. No appointment is necessary.
