New treasures

February 02, 2007

The event raised $200 to help fund the organization’s border immersion trip to Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey this spring break. The church is located in El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico. Students will spend time on both sides of the border and learn about the issues that affect the people living there.

The office sought donations of men’s and women’s clothing throughout January. The clothing was sorted and piled high on tables in the UC foyer. Students, faculty and staff dug through the mounds in search of new “treasures.” Clothing cost only $2 per bag.
