Carpool and get chocolate
February 02, 2007
Faculty and staff members who sign up for PLU’s Rideshare program and carpool at least once in February will receive Valentine's Day chocolate.
Sign up online for a carpool partner by visiting www.rideshareonline.com and entering your information. Then e-mail commute@plu.edu and to let PLU’s commute trip reduction coordinator know you signed up. To receive the candy, faculty and staff must complete a commuter calendar.
The Commute Trip Reduction program rewards faculty and staff who find alternative ways to get to campus. This includes carpooling, walking, biking or taking the bus.
Those who choose to carpool can register with Campus Safety to park in special parking spaces designated for carpoolers. On average, there are about 17 carpools going on in any given month, but there is always room for improvement, said Jennifer Wamboldt, university transportation coordinator.
Environmental Health & Safety will be checking Rideshare online and existing PLU carpools for possible matches for you.
