Clothing swap will help fund trip
January 26, 2007
Campus Ministry is organizing a clothing swap on Wednesday, Jan. 31 to help raise money for their border immersion trip to Iglesia Luterana Cristo Rey.
The church is located in El Paso, Texas, and Juarez, Mexico. Students go there over spring break to learn about the issues that affect the people living on the border.
The office is seeking donations of men’s and women’s clothing of all sizes in good condition. Donations will be picked up from each office in the following weeks.
On Jan. 31, the campus community is invited to shop amongst the used clothes for new “treasures.” Clothing will cost $2 per bag and there is no limit to how many bags a person can take home.
For more information, contact Elisabeth Pynn Himmelman, Campus Ministry program specialist, at ext. 6180 or ehimmelman@plu.edu, or Robby Westermann, University Congregation missions coordinator, at westerrw@plu.edu.
