Stay in shape over the holiday break
December 15, 2006
The Names Fitness Center will be open for limited hours from Dec. 15 to Jan. 7.
The fitness center will remain open because the residence halls are open, and staff and administrators are typically scheduled to work over part of what is considered the university’s winter holiday, said Kathryn Russell, strength and fitness coordinator.
From Dec. 22 to 26 the fitness center will be closed. The hours of operation during the rest of the break will depend on the day of the week. A complete holiday schedule will be posted on the door of the fitness center or can be found below. Regular hours resume on Jan. 8.
All students, faculty and staff can use the fitness center. This past spring, the fitness center added more than $70,000 worth of new equipment, including aerobic and weight-training machines and free-weight equipment.
Russell said the holiday break is a good time for staff to drop by and start working on their New Year’s resolutions. She will be available during most of the fitness center’s open hours to provide basic assistance to those who need it.
For more information, contact Russell at ext. 5496.
