World premiere of alum’s “Symphony No. 1”
November 10, 2006

The University Wind Ensemble will present the world premiere of Neil Anderson-Himmelspach’s “Symphony No. 1” on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. in Lagerquist Concert Hall.
Based on “A Mighty Fortress is Our God,” the composition is a memorial to former PLU professors James Holloway and Raydell Bradley. Both men died tragically a few years ago, and their deaths profoundly impacted Anderson-Himmelspach.
Anderson-Himmelspach is currently in the midst of doctoral studies at Florida State University. He will be present at the concert and will address the audience.
Edwin Powell, assistant professor of music, will direct the performance.
